We're excited to introduce a new policy type that is available for all Paidnice users today: [**Escalations**](https://www.paidnice.com/escalations)**.**

With an escalation policy, you can trigger new actions in your account when your criteria are met.

### **🎥 Check out the short demo we recorded (3-min):**

> An example would be to schedule a phone call following up an overdue invoice 14 days past the due date.

There are 3 types of escalation in Paidnice:

1. **Phone call** - this is for staff to call the customer and follow up the overdue invoice - this can be handled by a team in your company or a specialist credit control service.
2. **Stop credit** - this is for staff to halt further sales or credit to the customer - typically handled by a sales team or credit control team
3. **Template legal letter -** this is for staff to generate a legal letter and send it to the customer (by email and/or physical mail). **It could also notify a 3rd party legal service or lawyer.**
4. Are we missing something? Have more ideas for escalations? Let us know!

### ⚙️ **Integrate escalations with 3rd party services**

When escalations are marked as complete or canceled, Paidnice will send a webhook if configured, [read more about webhooks here](https://help.paidnice.com/integrations/webhooks).

Webhooks can allow the accounts receivable escalation activities to be synced to other software such as [Hubspot](https://www.paidnice.com/integrations/crm), Salesforce or Intercom - there are 1000's of supported software platforms in [Zapier.](https://www.paidnice.com/integrations/zapier)

This is Ashley from Paidnice. Today, I just wanted to do a quick little video that, shares the new escalations feature with you. So you know, with Paidnice, you can send reminders, you can encourage early payment with prompt payment discounts.

You can, you can take actions like late applying late fees to overdue invoices or statement balances. But sometimes those things don't work, and you need to, take a little bit more action. And for that, we've created escalations.

So, escalations can be things like phone calls, stopping credit, so not doing any more service or work for a client. Or even sending legal letters, templated legal letters, demanding payment or threatening collections. Today, I just wanted to do a quick little demo of how that works and show you, what's involved in escalation.

So, in Paidnice you'll see escalations are a new type of invoice policy here, and you set them up just like any policy. So you apply them to a group. You choose which groups of, which customers in a group you want to apply the policy to.

And you decide what sort of escalation, when to apply it. You include instructions that can have merge tags in them. For the team that's gonna be actually processing your escalation, doing the work, and you can notify a particular email address.

So you might have an accounts team or person in your credit, team that makes these calls that you would, alert, to let them know. So you can see this one's set up to escalate after a week once it's been unpaid. And so here we have, an invoice that was a week overdue.

And you can see this escalation was scheduled, when it when it went overdue. And so, because I'd set up that email address, I get an alert to let me know that, and then over here in Paidnice, the escalations page shows me all of the scheduled escalations. So you would have them pending, you would see the date that they scheduled.

You can, you can mark them as complete or you can snooze them. So you can see with this example one, I, I tried to call them, got no answer, snoozed it for three days, and then spoke to the customer again, and they said they'd pay immediately. So we've marked the callers complete.

So all of that history and, action is all recorded here in Paidnice, but importantly, it's also all recorded here in the accounting system as well. So that everybody in the team and the finance team and company wide has that information. Both actions and escalations work with our new repo as well.

So you can send these same events and information to your CRM or any other tool that you're using within your business. So that's escalations. You can use it, for calls.

You can set up templated letters and then check the merge tags into those. So there's tons of options, to help you automate next stage in in accounts receivable for your business. I hope you keen to check it out.

Thanks for watching. Bye.
