## Summary

You can put a pay link on NetSuite invoices with the Payment Link feature, and give customers a login with the Customer Center. Neither sends the link again on a schedule. Paidnice adds a Pay now link to every reminder, statement and portal page, and a payment posted in NetSuite stops the chase.

- **Paidnice:** Best for NetSuite teams that want the pay link inside every reminder and statement. Runs on the Custom plan with a two-way NetSuite sync.
- **NetSuite Payment Link:** Included feature. Needs Payment Instruments, a gateway profile, a Payment Method record, DKIM and an Advanced PDF/HTML invoice template. Partial payment is one on/off checkbox.
- **Customer Center:** Customers log in to see and pay invoices. Needs Customer Access, Credit Card Payments and the Customers Can Pay Online preference.
- **Stripe's free NetSuite link:** Collects the payment. Does not post it back to NetSuite without the full connector.

Paidnice connects to your ERP on the Custom plan. [Book a demo on your own data](https://www.paidnice.com/book-a-demo), and a specialist sets up the connection.

A customer says they paid by card. Your bank statement shows nothing yet, and the invoice in NetSuite is still open. You need to know which system to believe before the next reminder goes out.

This guide covers the three ways NetSuite takes an online invoice payment, what each one needs before it works, what it costs, and how to put the same Pay now link in every reminder.

## How does the NetSuite Payment Link work?

**The NetSuite Payment Link puts a pay link or QR code on an invoice email, and the customer pays on a hosted checkout page after you set up Payment Instruments and a card gateway.**

A payment link is a URL the customer opens to pay one invoice without logging in. In NetSuite, the customer gets the emailed invoice with the link and an optional QR code, opens a checkout page on a suitepayments.com address, picks a payment method and submits. Oracle's page names credit cards and PayPal as the methods on offer.

When the payment goes through, the customer gets the "Standard Payment Link Payment Confirmation" email, and a declined card sends the "Standard Payment Link Payment Declined Notification". Check on a test invoice that the invoice balance updates in NetSuite for your gateway.

Partial payment is one checkbox, "Accept Partial Payments". On, the customer chooses the amount. Off, the page takes the full invoice only. There is no minimum and no instalment logic.

The checkout page carries your logo, company name and company details.

### What do you need before the NetSuite Payment Link works?

| Step | Where in NetSuite | What breaks if skipped |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1. Turn the features on | Setup > Company > Enable Features > Transactions > Payment Processing: tick Payment Instruments, then Payment Link | The Payment Link menu does not appear |
| 2. Configure the link | Commerce > Payment Link: Domain Prefix, Payment Methods, Accept Partial Payments, logo, name, the two email templates | No checkout address. The Domain Prefix must be unique, and changing it later breaks the old URL |
| 3. Set up payments and DKIM | A Payment Method record with card brands set, a payment processing profile per card gateway, online card payments allowed, and DKIM on your sending domain | The Payment Methods box on the checkout page is empty, or your From address is rewritten |
| 4. Point the invoice form at the link templates | Customization > Forms > Transaction Forms, edit Standard Service Invoice: Printing Type Advanced, "Standard Payment Link Invoice PDF/HTML Template", "Standard Payment Link Transaction Email Template" | Invoices send with no link |
| 5. Turn on Advanced PDF/HTML Templates | Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud, then Home > Set Preferences > Transactions > Printing: Transaction Email Attachment Format | The PDF cannot carry the link or QR code |

DKIM is the step teams miss. Without it, NetSuite keeps rewriting the From header on your outgoing email.

Does the link appear on customer statements? Oracle's Payment Link page does not say. It documents the invoice email and the invoice PDF.

## Why does the payment link say "No available Payment Methods"?

**The Payment Methods box stays empty when the Payment Method record, card brands or payment processing profile are missing, so check those before the Payment Link page.**

This is the most common NetSuite payment link failure in public forums. Forum answers, not Oracle fact, point to three causes:

1. No Payment Method record exists for the card types you take, or the card brands are not set on it.
2. No payment processing profile is linked to the gateway for that card brand.
3. The invoice was copied from an older transaction, so the link field carries stale data. Make a fresh invoice to test.

## Which NetSuite route fits: Payment Link, Direct Invoice Payment or Customer Center?

**NetSuite has three separate ways to take online invoice payments: Payment Link for a one-invoice checkout, Direct Invoice Payment for a Commerce website, and Customer Center for a login.**

Most guides describe only the first. The three differ on whether the customer logs in, how many invoices one visit can pay, and what you need to have built already.

| Route and what it needs | Customer experience | Pays one invoice or many | Posts back to NetSuite | Region |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Payment LinkPayment Instruments, gateway profile, Payment Method record, DKIM, Advanced PDF/HTML template | Emailed link to a hosted checkout, no login | One invoice, partial on or off | Yes, through the gateway you set up | NetSuite Pay is US and Canada only. Other gateways, any region |
| Direct Invoice PaymentA Commerce website with a domain | Email link opens the invoice in My Account on your Commerce website; pay with a stored method | One invoice per link | Yes | Any |
| Customer CenterCustomer Access, Credit Card Payments, Customers Can Pay Online, a Customer Center role per customer | Login, view past invoices, print statements, pay open invoices | Many | Yes | Any |
| Added by Paidnice (Custom plan, two-way NetSuite sync) | | | | |
| Paidnice reminders and portalPaidnice connects through SuiteTalk REST under a dedicated integration role, and an implementation specialist handles setup | Pay now in every reminder, SMS and statement; portal with Due now, Overdue, All outstanding or Selected invoices, no login | One, several, or the whole balance | A payment applied in NetSuite stops the chase at the next sync | Card, ACH, Bacs and Stripe direct debit, all through Stripe. Each invoice is chased in its own invoice currency, and a statement shows one section per currency. |

NetSuite rows: Oracle, [Payment Link](https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/chapter_162516600357.html), [Customer Center](https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/section_N1242506.html) and Oracle's Direct Invoice Payment page. Oracle states no release version and no limits for Direct Invoice Payment.

### How are Direct Invoice Payment and Customer Center set up in NetSuite?

Direct Invoice Payment needs a Commerce website with its own domain. The email link opens the invoice inside My Account on that site, and the customer pays with a stored payment method.

Customer Center setup is: Setup > Company > Enable Features > Web Presence > Customer Access; Credit Card Payments on the Transactions tab; the "Customers Can Pay Online" accounting preference; then a Customer Center role on each customer record and "Give Access". The customer gets a notification email or a password you set manually.

## What does Customer Center let customers do, and where does it frustrate them?

**Customer Center lets a customer log in to view past invoices, print statements and pay open invoices, but each customer gets a separate password and the reset link expires in 60 minutes.**

The standard role shows estimates, orders, invoices and payments, and setting Customer Payments to None blocks payment while keeping the view. Oracle's page states no limit and no price. Third-party consultants say the standard role needs no extra user licence; treat that as their reading, not Oracle's.

The friction is the login. Customer-role passwords are separate from employee logins. A reset link lasts 60 minutes, and a customer who misses it emails your team instead of paying. One public complaint thread, "Payment with NetSuite customer payment portal", describes a customer who could not log in or receive the reset email.

A [pay-online portal](https://www.paidnice.com/blog/what-is-a-customer-payment-portal) that opens from a link, with no password, removes that step.

## What does the NetSuite payment link cost?

**Oracle's Payment Link page lists no fee; the cost is the gateway's, and NetSuite Pay by Versapay, available in the United States and Canada only, was last reported at $200 a month plus per-payment card and ACH rates. Request the current rates.**

Those rates are 2.9% and 30 cents for cards and 0.35% and 30 cents for ACH, capped at $8, from Versapay's published NetSuite Pay rates, in USD. The same page lists a $20 chargeback fee, a $20 ACH return fee and 1% extra on non-US cards. Oracle says the fees you pay show on the NetSuite Pay dashboard.

Region matters here. NetSuite Pay covers the United States and Canada. UK and Australian teams pick another gateway from the Payment Link page's list, and Oracle names credit card gateways and PayPal only. Oracle does not document Bacs or direct debit through the native link.

The Paidnice portal takes card, ACH, Bacs and Stripe direct debit, all through Stripe, and the payment completes on the portal page with no redirect. Paidnice's Custom plan is quoted for your setup: the ERP connection, your invoice volume and support. There are no plan limits, and it is never priced by your revenue.

## Does Stripe's free NetSuite link post payments back?

**No. Stripe's free invoice payment link collects the payment but does not sync Stripe data, payouts or fees to NetSuite, so cash application needs the paid full connector.**

| Stripe Connector for NetSuite | Free invoice payment link | Full connector |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Onboarding | Self-serve | Sales demo |
| Collect invoice payments through Stripe Checkout | Yes | Yes |
| Sync Stripe data, payouts and fees to NetSuite | No | Yes |
| Cash reconciliation automation | No | Yes |
| Multiple subsidiaries, multi-currency, custom field mapping | No | Yes |

Source: Stripe, [NetSuite invoice payment link installation](https://docs.stripe.com/connectors/netsuite/invoice-payment-link/installation).

The free link still needs setup inside NetSuite: SOAP web services and token-based authentication, two Stripe bundles (178262 and 449983), and two body fields on your invoice forms. Oracle will take no new token-based or SOAP integrations from 2027.1, so check the connector's auth path with Stripe before you build on it.

## How do card and Stripe payments reconcile to the bank?

**Card and ACH payments reconcile through a clearing step, not on the day the customer pays, because the gateway pays out to your bank later and the bank receipt can take days to land.**

The gateway holds the money, then settles to your bank in a batch. Your bank feed shows one payout for several invoices, days after each customer paid.

Oracle's automated settlement reconciliation handles the native route. It supports "NetSuite Native Payment Link" for card and ACH, multi-subsidiary and multi-customer invoices, and payments with a prepayment or credit memo applied. Two cases are listed as unsupported: an NSF fee never cleared from Undeposited Funds, and a payment that was voided and recreated.

ACH adds a lag of its own. The bank settles ACH in days, so the gateway learns about a failed debit late. A reminder can go out between the customer's payment and your bank receipt.

That gap is where Paidnice sits. A payment applied in NetSuite stops the chase at the next sync. Paidnice reads changed NetSuite records on a continuous short cycle, using each record's last modified date. The reminder that would have gone out the morning after a customer paid does not send.

## Does the NetSuite payment link go out again in reminders?

**Oracle's Payment Link page documents the link on the invoice email and PDF and no reminder schedule, so a late customer needs a reminder that carries the Pay now link.**

The native link travels with the invoice once. NetSuite's [dunning letters](https://www.paidnice.com/blog/netsuite-dunning) are a separate SuiteApp, and nothing in Oracle's Payment Link documentation puts the link in a later letter. Stripe, Adyen, Paystand and EBizCharge each offer their own payment link or payment page for NetSuite invoices.

**Reminder day is payment day.** Overdue invoices are paid about 3 times as often on the day a reminder is sent as comparable overdue invoices with no reminder (about 12 in 100 against about 4 in 100), in Paidnice data. Businesses chose which invoices to remind, so this is a strong short-term pattern, not a controlled test.
Original dataSource: our analysis of invoice data from over 1,000 Paidnice customers. The data covers Paidnice customers on every ledger, mostly Xero and QuickBooks. See how fast customers pay after a reminder.

Within a week, 38% of reminded overdue invoices are paid, against 22% with no reminder, in the same data.

Paidnice puts a Pay now link in every reminder email, every SMS reminder, every statement and every portal page. The portal opens from the link with no password, under your logo and brand colour.

The customer sees the outstanding statement grouped Due now and Not yet due, the overdue age on each invoice, and one question: "What would you like to pay?" Due now, Overdue, All outstanding or Selected invoices.

On a single invoice the customer can pay by card or ACH, promise a payment date, create a payment plan when your settings allow it, or press "Query this invoice". Policies set to skip while a query is open pause until it is resolved. The portal and payment plans work on ERP connections, and payment plans are live on NetSuite.

The [Paidnice NetSuite connection](https://www.paidnice.com/integrations/netsuite) is a two-way sync on the Custom plan. Customers, contacts, invoices, Customer Payments, Credit Memos and custom fields sync on a continuous short cycle. Paidnice connects through SuiteTalk REST under a dedicated integration role, and an implementation specialist handles setup.

## NetSuite payment link and portal: common questions

**Short answers on adding a link to a NetSuite invoice, the Customer Center, the empty payment methods list, ACH and Stripe.**

### How do I add a payment link to a NetSuite invoice?

Turn on Payment Instruments and Payment Link under Setup > Company > Enable Features > Transactions. Set the Domain Prefix and payment methods under Commerce > Payment Link. Then edit your invoice form so its print and email templates are the Standard Payment Link templates.

### Does NetSuite have a customer portal?

Yes. The Customer Center is NetSuite's customer portal. Turn on Customer Access, give each customer a Customer Center role, and customers can log in to view invoices and pay open ones when payment is enabled.

### Why is my NetSuite payment link not working?

The common cause is an empty Payment Methods list. Check that a Payment Method record exists with its card brands set, that a payment processing profile is linked for each card gateway, and that DKIM is in place. Test on a newly created invoice, not a copied one.

### Can customers pay a NetSuite invoice by ACH?

Yes, through NetSuite Pay in the United States and Canada, last reported at 0.35% plus 30 cents per payment, capped at $8 (request the current rates), or through another gateway that supports ACH. Oracle's Payment Link page itself names credit cards and PayPal only.

### Can NetSuite send the payment link in a reminder?

Oracle's Payment Link page documents the link on the invoice email and PDF and no reminder schedule. Paidnice sends a Pay now link in every reminder, SMS, statement and portal page, on the Custom plan with a two-way NetSuite sync.

### Does the Stripe payment link update NetSuite?

Not on the free link. It collects the payment through Stripe Checkout and stops there. Syncing payments, payouts and fees into NetSuite needs Stripe's full connector.

### How does a customer know the NetSuite payment link is genuine?

The checkout opens on a yourprefix.suitepayments.com address that you set as the Domain Prefix, with your logo, company name and company details in the page header. Tell customers that address in your invoice email so they can check it before they pay.

### How do payment link payments reach the bank in NetSuite?

The gateway settles to your bank in a batch, days after each customer pays. Oracle's automated settlement reconciliation matches "NetSuite Native Payment Link" card and ACH payments to that payout.

### Does the Paidnice portal work with NetSuite?

Yes. The portal and payment plans work on ERP connections, including NetSuite on the Custom plan. A payment applied in NetSuite stops the chase at the next sync. Ask at the demo how a portal payment posts for your setup: as a Customer Payment applied to the invoice, into which account, and how the processing fee is recorded.
