## Summary

Satago alternatives split by job: Satago bundles invoice chasing, credit risk checks and invoice finance in one UK product, from £45 a month (about $59) standalone or £25 inside Sage 50. No single alternative covers all three jobs, so pick by the job you need replaced. Paidnice, Credit Hound, Chaser, Kolleno and Upflow each cover one or two.

- **Paidnice:** Best for the chasing job on Xero or QuickBooks Online with UK statutory late fees and interest on top, from $69 a month (£49), a job Satago's pricing pages do not list.
- **Credit Hound:** Best for Sage 50 sites with a dedicated credit controller, from £20 a user a month on Sage Accounting, £51 on Sage 50 or Xero; no credit reports and no invoice finance.
- **Chaser:** Best for UK teams past £4m that want Creditsafe credit checks with chasing, from £199 a month (about $259).
- **Triver and Kriya:** Best for the invoice finance job on its own: both are UK lenders that advance cash against unpaid invoices and price per advance, not per month.

## How we ranked these Satago alternatives

Each criterion below is a column of the comparison table further down. The four weights add up to 100%. Satago bundles chasing, credit checks and invoice finance, so jobs covered carries the most weight.

- **Jobs covered (35%):** which of the three Satago jobs each tool does (chasing, credit checks, invoice finance), including whether it applies the late fee itself, from each vendor's help docs and product pages. We count shipped features only, not beta ones.
- **Price (25%):** the entry price a month, from each vendor's own pricing page.
- **Ledger (20%):** the accounting systems each tool connects to natively, from each vendor's integration pages.
- **Size fit (20%):** the revenue or invoice volume the plans are built for, from each vendor's plan pages.

Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, and a price a vendor hides is given as last reported, with the year. Features come from vendor help docs. Prices change, so verify before you buy.

Paidnice is our product. Every entry, Paidnice included, lists its limit. The weights are our editorial judgment.

## The best Satago alternatives by job

Satago bundles invoice chasing, credit risk checks and invoice finance in one UK product, from £45 a month (about $59) standalone or £25 inside Sage 50. No single alternative covers all three jobs, so the tools below are grouped by the job a buyer is trying to replace: chasing with a fee on the ledger first (Paidnice), then chasing on its own, then credit checks, then finance. Paidnice and Chaser are the two of the five built to add a late fee on top of the chase; Kolleno, Upflow and Credit Hound leave the fee to be raised manually.

| Job | What Satago includes | Alternatives on this page |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Invoice chasing | Reminder emails and schedules on every tier; 100 emails a month on Basic, unlimited from Premium; sending from your own email account is listed on Premium and Platinum, and the Basic listing does not include it | Paidnice (domain-authenticated sending from your own address on Pro and above), Credit Hound, Chaser, Upflow |
| Credit risk checks | Credit scores and limit suggestions on every tier; 25, 100 or unlimited full reports (3 or 25 a year inside Sage 50) | Paidnice (native checks from payment behaviour, Creditsafe on Custom), Chaser, Kolleno |
| Invoice finance | Cash advance on one invoice or several, on every tier; advance cost not on the pricing page | Triver, Kriya (lenders, not software) |

Invoice finance is the job no software alternative covers. A business that wants funding against invoices keeps Satago, or pairs a chasing tool with a UK invoice finance lender such as Triver or Kriya (formerly MarketFinance), both of which advance cash against unpaid invoices and price each advance rather than charging a monthly subscription. Equisettle, a newer UK entrant, also covers the chasing job and is increasingly cited alongside comparison sites for this search. The five software options below are ordered by job, with Paidnice and the chasing tools first.

## Satago pricing by tier

Satago publishes two price lists: the standalone app at £45 to £200 a month, and the Sage 50 embedded version at £25 to £45 a month. Which applies depends on whether you run Sage 50.

| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included | Capped or gated |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Basic (standalone) | £45 (about $59) | £450 (about $585) | Invoice chasing, 25 credit reports, invoice finance access | 100 email reminders a month, no SMS stated |
| Premium (standalone) | £80 (about $104) | £800 (about $1,040) | Unlimited email reminders, 100 credit reports, payment integrations | 100 SMS a month |
| Platinum (standalone) | £200 (about $260) | £2,000 (about $2,600) | Unlimited credit reports, dedicated account manager | 1,000 SMS a month |
| Standard (inside Sage 50) | £25 (about $33) | Not published | Unlimited users, unlimited chasing, Satago Mailbox, credit scores and limit suggestions | 3 full credit reports a year |
| Plus (inside Sage 50) | £45 (about $59) | Not published | Everything in Standard, connect your own inbox | 25 full credit reports a year |
| Plus (included) | £0 with eligible Sage 50 subscriptions | Not published | Identical to paid Plus | Eligible subscriptions not published |

Prices are from the Satago pricing page and the Satago Sage 50 embedded pricing page. Satago bills in GBP; USD figures are approximate. Every tier carries the same three jobs, so the tier you pick mostly changes the quotas: credit report count, SMS allowance and, on Basic, a 100-email cap.

## What drives the Satago bill

Satago prices per company, from £45 (Basic) to £200 (Platinum) standalone, or £25 to £45 inside Sage 50. The bill moves on credit report quota, SMS allowance and billing frequency.

1. **The pricing unit is the company.** The Sage 50 tiers state unlimited users. The standalone page does not state a user cap either way (Satago pricing page).
2. **Standalone or embedded.** A Sage 50 customer pays £25 or £45 a month; everyone else starts at £45 and goes to £200.
3. **Credit report quota.** Basic includes 25 reports, Premium 100, Platinum unlimited. Inside Sage 50 the counts are 3 or 25 full reports a year. This is the number that decides your tier.
4. **SMS allowance.** Basic states no SMS. Premium includes 100 SMS a month and Platinum 1,000. Overage pricing is not published.
5. **Annual billing.** Standalone annual prices are ten times the monthly price, so a year paid up front saves two months. No annual price is published for the Sage 50 tiers.
6. **Invoice finance is separate.** Access to a cash advance is included in every tier; the cost of an advance is not on the pricing page.

Satago advertises a 14-day free trial on its product pages, though the pricing page itself does not mention it and does not say which plan it covers. No minimum term or VAT treatment is stated on either pricing page.

## What three business sizes pay a year

Satago costs a small firm on Basic £540 a year billed monthly or £450 annually. A mid-sized firm on Premium pays £960 or £800. A larger firm on Platinum pays £2,400 or £2,000.

**Business A: about £1m turnover, 60 invoices a month, occasional credit checks.** Basic covers 25 credit reports and 100 email reminders a month; a two-email chase on 60 invoices is 120 reminders, so the cap is tight. £45 x 12 = **£540 a year** (about $702) monthly, or **£450** (about $585) paid annually.

**Business B: about £5m turnover, 250 invoices a month, credit checks on new accounts, some SMS.** Premium removes the email cap and adds 100 SMS and 100 credit reports. £80 x 12 = **£960 a year** (about $1,248) monthly, or **£800** (about $1,040) annually.

**Business C: about £15m turnover, 800 invoices a month, credit checks on every account, SMS in every sequence.** Platinum for unlimited reports and 1,000 SMS. £200 x 12 = **£2,400 a year** (about $3,120) monthly, or **£2,000** (about $2,600) annually.

| Business | Standalone tier | Annual, billed monthly | Annual, paid up front | Sage 50 route |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| A: £1m, 60 invoices/month | Basic | £540 (about $702) | £450 (about $585) | Standard £300, or Plus £540 / £0 included |
| B: £5m, 250 invoices/month | Premium | £960 (about $1,248) | £800 (about $1,040) | Plus £540 / £0 included, 25 reports a year |
| C: £15m, 800 invoices/month | Platinum | £2,400 (about $3,120) | £2,000 (about $2,600) | Plus £540 / £0 included, 25 reports a year |

On Sage 50, Standard is £25 x 12 = £300 a year and Plus is £45 x 12 = £540, or £0 with included Plus; the trade-off is 3 or 25 full reports a year. The arithmetic excludes VAT, SMS overage and invoice finance charges. For the wider market, see [what credit control software costs](https://www.paidnice.com/blog/credit-control-software-pricing).

## Is Satago worth the price

Satago is good value for a UK business using all three jobs, since Basic costs £45 a month (about $59) whether or not the credit checks and invoice finance get used. Users rate Satago 4.93 from 92 reviews on the Xero App Store UK. A chasing-only business pays for two jobs it will not run.

| Fits | Overpays |
| --- | --- |
| UK businesses on Xero, Sage 50, QuickBooks, KashFlow or FreeAgent that credit check new customers and want to fund an invoice from the same screen. | A business that never runs a credit report and never borrows against invoices, using a three-job bundle for one job. |
| Sage 50 customers with included Plus, who get reminders, statements and credit scores for nothing extra. | A chasing-only firm on Basic, where the 100-reminder cap pushes it to Premium at £80. |
| Firms that want one supplier for chasing, risk and funding. | Any business outside the UK: Satago is UK-only and bills in GBP. |

Before buying, ask Satago for the minimum term, the SMS overage rate, the cost of an advance, and whether your Sage 50 subscription qualifies for included Plus. None of the four is on the pricing page.

## How Paidnice prices chasing and statements

Paidnice charges by invoice volume, not revenue or seats, against Satago's per-company tiers. Essentials is $69 a month (£49) for 150 invoices and two users. Pro starts at $99 (£74) for 300 invoices with unlimited users.

- Essentials: $69 / £49 a month, 150 invoices, 600 emails, 2 team members, escalation workflows and SMS reminders included.
- Pro 300: $99 / £74. Pro 600: $179 / £129. Pro 1,000: $279 / £199. Pro 2,000: $489 / £349. All Pro tiers include unlimited users and custom-domain sending.
- Custom from $999 / £749 at any invoice volume, with ERP and payment integrations, invoice API access and a dedicated account manager.
- Add-ons: multi-entity $29 / £19 per entity a month; SMS $0.10 / £0.05 each. No contracts and no lock-ins.

Business B above, at 250 invoices a month, lands on Pro 300: $99 x 12 = $1,188 a year (£888). Business C at 800 invoices lands on Pro 1,000: $279 x 12 = $3,348 a year (£2,388). Both include unlimited users, automatic statements, payment plans and optional automatic late fees and interest.

Reminders and statements are a full use case on their own. Late fees and interest are optional, and where they are on they act as leverage: the fee sits on the ledger as an invoice, so it enters the customer's payables and their payment run.

💡 Paidnice insight

The first 20 actions are free, with no time limit and no credit card, so a finance team can run a real chase sequence on live Xero or QuickBooks Online invoices before paying anything. Paidnice picks up invoices that were already open at connection as well as invoices raised after setup.

## Does Paidnice replace Satago's invoice finance?

Partly. Paidnice has no invoice finance feature. It runs native credit checks from each customer's payment behaviour on every plan, plus Creditsafe bureau checks through the API on its Custom plan. Paidnice automates reminders, statements, escalation and optional late fees and interest on Xero and QuickBooks Online invoices, which is the chasing job in Satago's bundle.

A UK business that borrows against invoices keeps Satago for the funding, or pairs Paidnice with a separate invoice finance lender such as Triver or Kriya. A business that wants credit checks without finance gets native checks from payment behaviour on every Paidnice plan, and Creditsafe bureau reports on Paidnice's Custom plan or from Chaser. A business that only needs the chasing job, with statements and a fee that lands on the ledger, is the one Paidnice is built for.

## Frequently asked questions

Satago's £45 entry price is the figure most buyers start from. Short answers to the questions that follow it.

### How much does Satago cost per month?

£45 (Basic), £80 (Premium) or £200 (Platinum) a month standalone, about $59, $104 and $260. Inside Sage 50 it is £25 (Standard) or £45 (Plus), and Plus is included free with eligible Sage 50 subscriptions (Satago pricing pages).

### Does Satago have a free plan or free trial?

No free plan. Satago advertises a 14-day free trial on its product pages; the pricing page does not mention it, and which plan the trial covers and whether a card is needed are not published. The only £0 route is the included Plus tier for eligible Sage 50 subscriptions, and Satago does not publish which subscriptions qualify; a Sage account manager confirms eligibility.

### Should you choose Chaser or Satago?

Chaser Compact is £199 a month for businesses up to £4m turnover, with Creditsafe credit checks and no invoice finance. Satago is £45, £80 or £200 a month per company, with credit reports and invoice finance on every tier. Chaser's entry price is more than four times Satago Basic. Chaser suits an established UK team that wants email, SMS and bureau credit checks from one supplier and has no need for funding. Satago suits a smaller UK business that wants to credit check new customers and borrow against invoices from the same screen.

### Is Satago priced per user?

No. Satago prices per company by tier. The Sage 50 tiers state unlimited users. The standalone page does not publish a user limit, so confirm with Satago if you have a large team.

### What is the best Satago alternative for invoice chasing?

The best fit follows the ledger. Credit Hound at £20 a user on Sage Accounting, or £51 on Sage 50 or Xero, fits Sage sites, Chaser at £199 a month fits UK teams that also want bureau credit checks, and Paidnice from $69 or £49 fits Xero and QuickBooks Online businesses that want statements and optional late fees with the chasing.

### Is there a Satago alternative that includes invoice finance?

No software alternative on this page bundles invoice finance in. Satago covers chasing, credit checks and invoice finance in one tool; every alternative here covers chasing, with credit checks on Chaser, Kolleno and Paidnice, so funding comes from a separate UK invoice finance lender such as Triver or Kriya.

Read the transcript: Satago alternatives: the best option for each job

Satago does three jobs in one product. Most businesses looking for an alternative only need one of them. Paidnice is the best alternative for the chasing job on Xero or QuickBooks Online.

The rest depends on which job you need. First, the three jobs Satago bundles. Second, what Satago costs.

Third, the alternatives for each job with Paidnice first. Fourth, how to choose. Satago is a UK product that puts invoice chasing, credit checks, and invoice finance into one subscription.

Chasing is reminder emails on a schedule. Credit checks are a score, a limit, and a full report. Invoice finance is borrowing against an unpaid invoice. No other software does all three, so the first question is which job you use.

If you never pull a report and never borrow, you pay for two jobs you do not use. Satago sells its bundle two ways, on its own or built into Sage 50, and each way has its own price list. Standalone runs from £45 a month up to £200. Inside Sage 50, it is £25 or £45.

Every plan includes all three jobs. The price sets the limits. The cheapest plan allows 100 reminder emails a month and 25 credit reports.

The dearer plans remove those limits. Inside Sage 50, chasing is unlimited. Most people leaving Satago are replacing the chasing job, and the test for any alternative is whether the late fee is raised as an invoice in Xero or QuickBooks.

A normal sequence runs on the due date, day seven, and day 14. In the UK, you can charge interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate. You can also add compensation of 40 to 100 pounds per invoice.

A fee mentioned in an email is only a but a fee raised as an invoice goes into the customer's payment run. Paidnice is the best Satago alternative for the chasing job on Xero or QuickBooks. It sends reminders and sets up payment plans. It also raises the late fee or interest as an invoice in your accounts. Pricing goes by how many invoices you send, not revenue or users.

Essentials is 49 pounds a month for 150 invoices. Pro is 74 pounds with unlimited users. The fee is optional with a grace period and a one-click waive. Customers halve the time they wait to be paid within 30 days.

Credit safe checks are only on the custom plan and there is no invoice finance. Credit Hound and Upflow also cover the chasing job, but you raise any late fee yourself. Credit Hound fits a Sage 50 business with a credit controller. It logs disputes and tracks promises to pay. It costs 20 pounds a user on Sage 50 or 51 pounds for the first user on Xero.

It has no credit reports and no invoice finance and it does not connect to QuickBooks. Upflow is a reporting tool for finance teams invoicing 10 million dollars or more. You have to ask for a price. It has no late fee feature.

If the job you are replacing is the credit report, Chaser and Kolleno both put credit checks and chasing in one Chaser is a UK product for businesses past 4 million pounds in revenue. It pulls CreditSafe reports into the app and chases by email and text. It also has one late fee rule.

It costs 199 pounds a month, more than four times Satago's cheapest plan, with no invoice finance. Kolleno is built around matching payments to invoices for businesses above 1 million in revenue. It costs 650 US dollars a month for each user. Invoice finance is the one job no software covers, so it has to come from a lender.

Triver and Kriya are UK lenders. They advance cash against unpaid invoices and charge per advance with no monthly subscription. If you borrow against invoices, keep Satago for the funding or pair a chasing tool with a lender.

Chapter four, pick the alternative by the job you are replacing because each of the three jobs has a different Chasing on Xero or QuickBooks Online with the fee raised as an invoice is Paidnice from 49 pounds a month. A Sage 50 business with a credit controller has the Sage reseller tool. Credit reports past 4 million pounds is the UK credit check tool.

Borrowing against invoices needs a lender or stay on Satago. The full comparison is in the article on the Paidnice blog.
