Xero has named Paidnice the winner of 🏆 New Zealand Small Business App of the Year in the Xero Global App Awards 2026. We are grateful for it, and we do not take it lightly.
We are an Auckland company. Paidnice started here in 2022 with three of us and a problem we could not stop thinking about: small businesses do the work, send the invoice, and then wait. Winning the New Zealand category, in the market we live and build in, is the one we would have picked.

Before the winners were decided, Paidnice was named a finalist in four categories:
Last year we had one shortlist. This year, four. Those three other places matter to us as much as the win does, because the UK, the US, and New Zealand run genuinely different payment cultures: different terms, different norms, different tolerance for charging a late fee. Being shortlisted in all three at once told us the gap between invoice and payment looks much the same wherever you trade.
What we submitted was not a pitch. It was evidence: reviews, case studies, and the results our customers produce once the system is running. Every piece of it came from a business or an advisor who decided to stop absorbing late payment, which is why this award belongs to them as much as it does to us.
Across the customer base, businesses running Paidnice cut their average wait for payment in half within 30 days, and reduce manual chasing by up to 90%. On the Xero App Store, Paidnice holds a 5.0 average from 82 reviews.
One of those reviews is from Irene Bennetts, founder and CEO of the New Zealand bookkeeping firm Admin Army, who has implemented Paidnice across her client base:
Small Business App of the Year recognises apps that deliver real value to small businesses in the Xero ecosystem. In our case the value is narrow and specific: credit control that runs without a credit controller. Reminders on schedule from your own domain. Statements at month end, including consolidated parent and child statements. Late fees and interest applied to your rules, with UK statutory rates indexed automatically. Payment plans that keep a struggling customer paying. Escalation when the rules say so.
None of that is glamorous. All of it is work that a finance team would otherwise do by hand, on a Friday afternoon, badly, because there is always something more urgent.
Nearly 5 million businesses run on Xero, and the App Store around it is full of teams solving problems we never have to think about: payroll, inventory, job costing, compliance, forecasting, industry workflows we would not know where to begin with. There are a lot of very good apps in this ecosystem, which is exactly why being picked out of it means so much to a small team.
Congratulations to every winner and finalist in the 2026 awards, and in particular to ShiftCare, Weel, and XBert, who were shortlisted alongside us for Innovation App of the Year. Thank you to the team at Xero for running the awards, and for building a platform that lets a small team in Auckland reach businesses in six markets.
The award is really a record of what our customers and the advisors who implement Paidnice have done with it. Every review the judges read, every case study, every result came from a business that decided to stop absorbing late payment and do something about it. Thank you for trusting us with something as sensitive as the conversation about money.
Nothing about tomorrow changes. The job is the same one it was in 2022: close the gap between invoice and payment. If you are new here, see how Paidnice works with Xero, or book a demo and we will show you what it looks like on your own ledger.
