New: Accept Part Payments with Stripe

Contents

We're excited to announce a powerful new feature for Paidnice users: Part Payments via Stripe! This highly-requested capability gives your customers flexibility in how they pay, while ensuring you maintain control over your cash flow.

What Are Partial Payments?

Partial payments allow your customers to pay a portion of their invoice now and the remainder later. With our Stripe integration, you can:

  • Set a minimum payment threshold (such as 50% of the total invoice).
  • Let customers choose between paying in full or making a partial payment.
  • Track outstanding balances automatically.
  • Receive the remaining payment at a later date.

How It Works

Setting up partial payments is simple:

  1. Connect your Stripe account in Paidnice.
  2. Enable the "Allow partial payments" toggle.
  3. Set your minimum payment amount (e.g., 50%).
  4. Save your settings.

Your customers will then see a "Pay Other Amount" option alongside "Pay In Full" when viewing their invoice:

They can choose to pay the minimum amount (or more) while staying within your defined parameters:

Why Accept Partial Payments?

Partial payments offer several significant advantages for businesses:

Improved Cash Flow: Rather than waiting for clients who can't pay in full, you can receive a portion of your payment immediately. This helps maintain healthy cash flow, especially for small businesses.

Reduced Payment Abandonment: For larger invoices, customers may delay payment if they can't pay the full amount. Partial payments remove this barrier, increasing the likelihood of getting paid something rather than nothing.

Customer-Friendly Options: By offering payment flexibility, you demonstrate understanding of your customers' budget constraints. This builds goodwill and strengthens relationships.

Perfect for Service Businesses: For companies offering ongoing services or project-based work, partial payments can serve as deposits or milestone payments, helping to distribute costs over time.

Competitive Advantage: Many businesses don't offer flexible payment options. By doing so, you can differentiate yourself from competitors.

Real-World Applications

Consider these scenarios where partial payments shine:

  • A design agency collecting a 50% deposit before starting a large project
  • A consulting firm allowing milestone payments as project phases are completed
  • An event planner receiving deposits to secure bookings
  • A subscription service letting customers split their annual fee into manageable installments
