Chaser vs Kolleno (2026): the real monthly cost of each

Contents

Chaser is priced in pounds and banded by revenue, from £199 a month ex-VAT. Kolleno is priced per user, from $650, shown in the local currency for your region, with a seat minimum on every plan above the entry tier. Prices as at August 2026.

Chaser costs £199 to £899 a month depending on your revenue. Kolleno costs $650 to $1,245 per user a month, with seat minimums that put its real floor at $2,490 on Business Plus.

Chaser and Kolleno are both accounts receivable automation tools, and they price on different rails. Chaser is credit control software from the category's first wave, banded by your own turnover and billed in pounds. Kolleno is an order-to-cash platform billed per user in your region's local currency, with a minimum user count on every plan and a turnover gate on top. Chaser requires a demo before you can buy; Kolleno publishes no trial.

The deciding difference is the job each one does. Kolleno's depth is cash application: remittance parsing, bank-file matching and NetSuite postings. Chaser's depth is email and SMS chasing for companies past £4 million in revenue, with basic late fees: four calculation types under one global rule. Kolleno publishes no late fee or statutory interest feature. Chaser has no bank-file matching.

Key takeaways

  • Kolleno's published price is per user, shown in your region's local currency: $650 a month, $545 on an annual commitment.
  • Every plan above BusinessPay sets a minimum user count, so the real Business Plus figure is $2,490 a month.
  • Chaser bands by your own revenue: £199 up to £4m turnover, £599 up to £10m, £899 above that.
  • Kolleno publishes no late fee feature. Chaser's is basic: four calculation types, one global rule for the whole account.
  • Paidnice runs a different late fee policy and a different statement interest policy per customer group, on the ledger.
  • Chaser has no bank-file matching. Kolleno reads BAI2, NACHA and ISO 20022 from Business Plus up.

Who each tool is built for

Chaser is a legacy credit control product built for companies past £4 million in revenue, on MYOB, NetSuite, Sage, Xero or QuickBooks. Kolleno is built for mid-market finance teams on NetSuite, SAP or Sage Intacct.

C

Chaser

Chaser is one of the oldest names in credit control, built for companies in excess of £4 million in revenue rather than small and mid-sized businesses, and sold across the established ledgers: MYOB, NetSuite, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks. The chasing itself is email and SMS from your own Gmail or Outlook mailbox, plus credit checks. The rest of the buying experience is set in the same era: pricing banded by your turnover, a demo before you can buy, and an accountant partner channel running credit control on clients' behalf.

K

Kolleno

Kolleno is an order-to-cash platform for finance teams whose real workload is matching incoming payments. The entry plan starts above $1m turnover; the NetSuite and SAP connectors are Enterprise tier. Custom sending domains are set up with an account manager. Its published customers include Deel, Miro, 1Password and Rakuten, which is the size of finance function the product is built around.

P

Paidnice

Paidnice is accounts receivable automation that enforces your payment terms: credit control and debtor management, with late fees and interest raised on the ledger. Built for Xero and QuickBooks Online, and made for finance teams between $1m and $20m a year needing a robust accounts receivable system. Priced fairly, with no contracts or lock-ins. Reminders send from your own authenticated domain on Pro.

What Chaser and Kolleno cost a month, once the minimums are counted

Chaser's floor is £199 a month. Kolleno's floor is $650 for one user on BusinessPay, and $2,490 on Business Plus, because that plan requires two users.

Paidnice Pro 30099 / 74USD / GBPUnlimitedNone$99 / £74

Kolleno's per-user price has to be multiplied. Business Plus is $1,245 per user and requires two users, so the number to budget is $2,490 a month. Auto-reconciliation starts on Business Plus, not on BusinessPay, so the bank-file matching sits at $2,490 too. Enterprise needs two users, Enterprise Plus four, and NetSuite and SAP are Enterprise tier.

Count your seats before you compare. Kolleno charges per user, so three credit controllers on BusinessPay is $1,950 a month, and three on Business Plus is $3,735. Chaser Compact includes four users and Core is unlimited, so headcount does not move the Chaser bill inside a band. Paidnice charges no per-seat fee.

Chaser's own published figures disagree on its top band: £200m in one place, £100m on the pricing page. Its prices are quoted ex-VAT, and an annual commitment takes 10% off, so Compact is £179.10 a month on annual terms.

Both bills carry extras. Chaser meters what it adds on top of email: SMS £0.05 to £0.07 a message, credit checks £2 to £3 a check, an extra user £10 on Compact and cash-flow forecasting £20 a month. Kolleno states extra charges may apply for integrations, customisations and add-ons.

Below £4m turnover Chaser Compact at £199 is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin. Between £4m and £10m the two sit close: Chaser Core is £599 a month and one Kolleno seat on BusinessPay is $650. Above £10m they stop being like for like, because Kolleno charges for reconciliation Chaser does not do.

Kolleno's pricing page shows its figure in the local currency for your region, so get the pound number it quotes you before you call either one cheaper.

Paidnice insightPaidnice prices by invoice volume, not by seat or by your turnover. Essentials is $69 a month (£49) for 150 invoices with two team members; Pro includes unlimited users. Each currency is a hard-coded local price, never a conversion.

Do you have to book a demo to buy either tool, and is there a free trial?

Chaser publishes a 10-day trial and requires a demo before you can buy. Kolleno publishes no trial. Paidnice has no time-limited trial: sign-up is free and the first 20 actions are free.

Paidnice runs a free action period, not a clock. Signing up costs nothing, the first 20 actions are free, there is no time limit and no credit card. Nothing expires while you are still deciding, and no demo is needed to buy, so you can test it against your own overdue invoices first.

Time to go live differs as much as price. Kolleno bundles onboarding into the plan: three hours on Business Plus, six hours of training on Enterprise. Chaser needs a demo before you can buy. Paidnice connects to your ledger and runs against your own overdue invoices without either.

Chaser's revenue band sets the plan. Kolleno's seat minimum and turnover gate set the monthly total, so compare both on paper before you book anything.

Late fees and statutory interest on Chaser, Kolleno and Paidnice

Chaser's late fees are basic: four calculation types under one global rule for the whole account. Kolleno publishes none. Paidnice runs a different late fee and statement interest policy per customer group.

Chaser: basic. Four calculation types, fixed amount, percentage, daily percentage and the UK Bank of England base rate. All four sit inside one global rule for the whole account. The rule cannot vary by schedule or by customer group, it applies no fee to payment-plan or partially paid invoices, and it syncs line items to Xero only.

Kolleno: none published. No late fee or interest feature page was found, and no help article covers either.

Paidnice: advanced. Policies sit under customer groups, so a different late fee policy and a different statement interest policy run at the same time on different groups. One group can charge base rate plus a percentage, another a flat fee, another nothing at all.

The UK statutory rate is auto-indexed: a Bank of England base rate toggle applies the correct base rate for each six-month period an invoice spans, so the charge stays right without a manual edit. The £40, £70 and £100 fixed compensation is applied as a line item with its own description and its own income account.

Adjust for Credit calculates the charge on the net balance when the customer holds credit, so a customer with a credit note is not charged on the gross. The charge posts to Xero or QuickBooks Online as Draft or Approved, your choice, and statement interest recalculates at the moment the statement is sent.

The UK rule. The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 allows base rate plus 8% on a commercial debt, plus £40, £70 or £100 fixed compensation by invoice size. A single global rule applies the same charge to every customer, including accounts on negotiated terms.

Neither ledger charges the interest for you. The request has sat on the Xero ideas board since 29 March 2012 with 1,102 votes and the status Accepted, and Xero's 7 July 2025 response states there are no committed plans. Our dunning process guide covers where the charge belongs.

Which of Chaser, Kolleno and Paidnice does cash application?

Kolleno matches bank files. Chaser does not, and neither does Paidnice. If reconciliation is the real workload, Kolleno is the only one of the three that does it.

Kolleno parses remittance emails, connects to banks over SFTP and reads BAI2, BAI2-CSV, NACHA and ISO 20022 files. It handles one-to-many and partial payments, credit-note offsets, exchange differences and bank fees, and posts multi-currency journal entries into NetSuite. Auto-reconciliation starts on Business Plus, so the entry price for it is $2,490 a month.

Chaser marks invoices paid in Xero and QuickBooks Online, with no bank-file matching, and Paidnice does none either. A team with a backlog of unapplied cash should buy Kolleno, and the same workload against Upflow is covered in Kolleno against Upflow.

Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite and SAP: which ledger each tool fits

Chaser and Kolleno both list Xero and QuickBooks Online. Chaser sells across the established ledger estate, MYOB and Sage included. Kolleno's depth is NetSuite.

Chaser lists 25 or more systems, including MYOB, Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics 365 and SAP. That spread dates it: the product comes from the era when credit control software was built to bolt onto whatever ledger an established company already ran. Kolleno runs a native NetSuite SuiteApp and integrates SAP S/4HANA and B1, Sage Intacct, Workday and Oracle JDE, and its tutorial library is NetSuite-first.

Paidnice is Xero and QuickBooks Online on standard plans, with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, MYOB and Dynamics 365 Business Central on Custom only. For the Xero decision, see credit control software for Xero, and for chasing depth on the same ledgers, Chaser against Upflow.

Reviews, and the platform each rating came from

Chaser is rated 4.98 from 374 reviews on the Xero App Store. Kolleno is rated 4.9 from 99 reviews on G2. Scores that mix platforms are not comparable.

Chaser also holds 4.5 from 68 on G2, Kolleno 5.0 from 18 on the Xero App Store UK, Paidnice 5.0 from 82 there. Chaser's review count is the larger by a wide margin: 374 on the Xero App Store against Kolleno's 18.

The honest limitation for Chaser, Kolleno and Paidnice

Chaser, Kolleno and Paidnice each have a gap that rules them out for a particular buyer.

The honest limitation, Chaser. Chasing is email and SMS only. One global late fee rule, no fees on payment-plan or partially paid invoices, Xero-only line-item sync, and no bank-file matching. It is built for the £4 million-plus bracket, and you cannot buy it without a demo.

The honest limitation, Kolleno. Per-user pricing with seat minimums and a $1m turnover floor prices a small business out before the feature list matters. No published late fee feature, and no published trial.

The honest limitation, Paidnice. Xero and QuickBooks Online only on standard plans, with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, MYOB and Dynamics 365 Business Central on Custom, so an SAP or Oracle team should not shortlist it. No bank-file cash application at all: if remittance parsing and BAI2 matching are the job, Kolleno wins outright.

Should you choose Chaser, Kolleno or Paidnice?

Kolleno for NetSuite reconciliation, Chaser for email and SMS chasing at a company past £4 million, Paidnice for enforcing your payment terms on a Xero or QuickBooks ledger.

If your ledger is NetSuite or SAPBuy Kolleno. Remittance parsing, BAI2 and ISO 20022 matching and NetSuite journal entries are the reason to buy it. NetSuite and SAP sit on Enterprise, which is quoted rather than published and needs two users.

If you are past £4m on an established ledgerBuy Chaser. Email and SMS chasing with credit checks, banded by your turnover from £199 a month ex-VAT; the £599 and £899 bands cover the companies it is built for. SMS and credit checks are credit-metered and billed once the included allowance runs out.

If customers ignore your termsLook at Paidnice. Late fees and statutory interest raised on the Xero or QuickBooks ledger, from $69 a month (£49).

Paidnice insightPaidnice launched in 2022 with late fees as the product's first job. Customers cut their average wait for payment in half, within 30 days. Mechanics on the late fees page.

Upflow sits in Kolleno's bracket with a different analytics story, and both pairings are compared above. For the wider field, read the best Chaser alternatives and the best Kolleno alternatives, or what credit control software has to cover.

Questions people ask about Chaser and Kolleno

Four questions buyers ask when they shortlist this pair, answered against published pricing, feature pages and help documentation.

Is Chaser cheaper than Kolleno?

Below £4m turnover, yes. Chaser Compact is £199 a month ex-VAT and the cheapest Kolleno seat is $650. Above £10m the two stop being comparable, because Kolleno is charging for reconciliation Chaser does not do.

Does Kolleno charge late fees or statutory interest?

Not published. No Kolleno feature page or help article covers either. Chaser has four calculation types under one global rule for the whole account. Paidnice runs a different late fee and statement interest policy per customer group, with the UK base rate auto-indexed, raised on the ledger.

Which is better for a business on Xero?

Between the two, Chaser: it is rated 4.98 from 374 reviews on the Xero App Store and its late fee line items sync to Xero. Kolleno lists Xero, but its depth and its tutorial library are NetSuite-first. Neither is priced for a small Xero business: Chaser is built for companies past £4 million and Kolleno gates entry at $1 million turnover.

Does Chaser or Kolleno offer a free trial?

Chaser publishes a 10-day trial and still requires a demo before you can buy. Kolleno publishes no trial. Paidnice has no time-limited trial, and it does have a free action period: sign-up is free, the first 20 actions are free, there is no time limit, no credit card and no demo.
