Five tools carry the MSP shortlist in 2026. ConnectBooster fits Kaseya and ConnectWise shops that want a proven portal; Paidnice fits MSPs from about $500k to $10m billing on Xero or QuickBooks; FlexPoint fits US MSPs on HaloPSA or SuperOps; Alternative Payments fits North American MSPs that want payables and receivables together; Chaser fits larger MSPs wanting one generic AR suite.
They are not all doing the same job, which is the part most shortlists miss.
Key takeaways
MSPs compare payment portals and credit control tools side by side as if they were substitutes. They sit on opposite sides of the invoice.
A PSA payment portal works on the collection side. It takes an amount your PSA or ledger already decided and improves how the money arrives: branded portal, stored cards, autopay, ACH, reconciliation.
Ledger-side credit control works on the invoice side. It changes what the customer owes: late fees, statutory interest, discounts, instalment schedules and statements, posted into Xero or QuickBooks as real transactions.
Most MSPs buy the first and then wonder why nothing enforces the terms in their MSA.
This is a category-wide finding, not a criticism of one vendor: none of the three MSP payment platforms here calculates a late fee or statutory interest.
That is a defensible design choice: a portal removes friction, it does not add cost. But the fee clause in your MSA has nowhere to run unless something on the ledger side runs it. In the UK it rests on the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998; the wording is in MSP payment terms.
"We already have a portal and clients still pay at day 50" is the most common opening line on our MSP demo calls. The invoice was correct, paying it was easy, and nothing happened when it went unpaid.
Three of these are MSP payment platforms with native PSA integrations. Two are ledger-side credit control tools with no PSA integration at all. Read the late fees column first.

"None found" means no late-fee capability appears in the vendor's public documentation. Prices and ratings checked August 2026; verify current pricing on the vendor's site.

Best for Kaseya and ConnectWise shops, if a quote-only price is acceptable
The incumbent MSP payment portal, now a Kaseya product: branded portal, autopay and reconciliation inside the Kaseya and ConnectWise stack.
Founded in Fargo in 2010 by the BNG Team and bought by Kaseya in October 2022, it now redirects to one Kaseya product page: distribution runs through the bundle rather than the brand.
The honest limitation. The lowest review scores in this list, no published pricing, three separate bills, and no late-fee capability.

Best for MSPs on Xero or QuickBooks, $500k to $10m billing
Ledger-side credit control: reminder ladders, late fees, statements and payment plans posted into Xero or QuickBooks Online, under whichever PSA does the billing.

Client groups carry different rules: firm sequences for chronic late payers, a lighter touch elsewhere. Customers cut their average wait for payment in half, within 30 days.
For MSPs already collecting through CloudDepot, the two halves fit together. Paidnice embeds CloudDepot RPS payment links in every reminder, statement, PDF and portal page, and payments reconcile back through RPS.
RPS runs auto-payment rules, a branded payment portal on your own subdomain, and card-surcharge recovery, on Stripe for cards and GoCardless for bank direct debit. It runs in Australia, New Zealand and the UK as well as globally, which is more ground than the US-first portals cover.
UK MSPs have a second route: HostedPay by Cloud Depot connects Opayo by Elavon through to Xero. Either way the split is the same: CloudDepot moves the money and carries the PSA hop, Paidnice decides what is owed and when to press.
The honest limitation. There is no native ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA or Kaseya BMS integration of its own, so it works off the ledger your PSA already bills into, or through CloudDepot for the PSA hop. It is not a payment portal or a cash-application platform, and some features differ between Xero and QuickBooks.

Best for US MSPs on HaloPSA or SuperOps, ACH-first collection
The fast-moving payment challenger with the widest PSA coverage here, built around cheap ACH and published transaction pricing.
LendARR Inc. trading as FlexPoint, led by CEO Victor Lopez, raised a $12M Series A from Foundry Group in May 2025, $19.5M in total. On HaloPSA or SuperOps it is often the only PSA-native option here.
The honest limitation. US-only, no published subscription price, an auto-renewing order form despite month-to-month marketing, and a review base too small to read much into.

Best for North American MSPs, payables and receivables in one place
A B2B finance platform rather than a payment portal: AR, AP and customer financing for US and Canadian service businesses, on the widest ledger coverage here.
It is the only vendor here that publishes a subscription price, a fee schedule and chargeback costs, which deserves credit in a category built on quote forms.
The honest limitation. North America only with a materially reduced Canadian offering, no late-fee capability, and a thin review base for the customer numbers it claims.

Best for larger MSPs wanting a generic full suite, from £199 a month
The broadest general-purpose AR suite here: reminders, credit checks, posted letters and a collections route in one product, sold to finance teams rather than to MSPs.
Founded in the UK in 2014, it has the longest track record of the two ledger-side tools here, and the review base to match.
The honest limitation. No MSP or PSA specificity, one global late-fee rule, statements monthly only on a fixed day, and entry pricing four times the cheapest option here.
Match the tool to your stack and your actual gap. A payment portal and an enforcement layer are not substitutes, and plenty of MSPs run one of each.
If you are still deciding which layer is missing, the guide to MSP billing and AR tool layers categorises these tools by job instead of ranking them, and the complete MSP credit control guide covers the policy they execute.
The MSPs who get the most out of any tool here decide four things first: who chases, on what days, what the fee is, and who may waive it. Software makes those decisions repeatable, not for you.
Do MSP payment platforms charge late fees?
No. Neither ConnectBooster, FlexPoint nor Alternative Payments calculates or posts a late fee or statutory interest. ConnectBooster has no such topic in its documentation, FlexPoint syncs the settings already configured in QuickBooks, and Alternative Payments sells customer-paid financing instead.
Fees are calculated where the invoice lives, so that capability sits with ledger-side tools such as Paidnice and Chaser.
What is the best ConnectBooster alternative?
It depends which half you are replacing. For the portal and the rails, FlexPoint is the closest match in the US, especially on HaloPSA or SuperOps, or Alternative Payments if you want published pricing and payables too.
For the part ConnectBooster never had, late fees and statements, you need a ledger-side tool: Paidnice on Xero or QuickBooks Online, or Chaser at a higher entry price.
Do I need both a payment portal and a credit control tool?
Often, yes. If clients want to pay and merely find it awkward, a portal fixes that on its own. If invoices are accurate and easy to pay but still land at day 45, the gap is consequences, and running both is normal.
Will credit control software work if my PSA is HaloPSA or Kaseya BMS?
Yes, because ledger-side tools do not integrate with the PSA at all. Your PSA raises the invoice and syncs it to Xero or QuickBooks, and the credit control layer works from there, which is why it survives a PSA migration untouched.
Anything the PSA never sent to the ledger stays invisible to it, so billing accuracy still matters: that is the MSP billing guide.
What does MSP credit control software cost?
Published entry prices in August 2026: Paidnice from US$69 / £49 a month, Alternative Payments from $199 a month to $50,000 of volume, and Chaser from £199 a month to £4m turnover. ConnectBooster and FlexPoint publish no subscription price.
Expect transaction fees on top wherever card or ACH rails are involved.
Once the tool is chosen, the ladder is the work: the MSP collections process sets out the day-by-day sequence and the templates.
Paidnice takes the pain out of getting paid for thousands of businesses using Xero and QuickBooks.
