Credit control and collections software for Acumatica (2026)

Summary

Acumatica is a strong ledger with basic collections tools. Dunning letters start 30 days past due, overdue charges wait for a person to click Calculate, and collections tracking comes from marketplace apps. Credit control software covers the rest: reading replies, SMS and post, and fees that post on their own. Choose by the job your team finds hardest.

  • Paidnice: Best for teams that want the whole chase handled. Paidnice reads each reply with AI and drafts the answer for a person to approve, sends SMS and posted letters, and posts fees to Acumatica as invoices. Credit checks through your Creditsafe API connection, on the Custom plan.
  • ezyCollect: Best for AU and NZ mid-market teams that want credit checks on illion data and a payment portal in one platform. Price on request.
  • Quadient AR: Best for multi-subsidiary groups sending 500 or more invoices a month. Its strength is predicting payment dates, with cash application built in. Price on request.
  • Acumatica on its own: Credit limits, dunning letters, overdue charges and statements come in the Financials module. The customer payment portal is an optional add-on.

Paidnice connects to your ERP on the Custom plan. Book a demo on your own data, and a specialist sets up the connection.

What needs an add-on in Acumatica?

Two things are sold separately: the self-service Customer Portal, marked optional in every size of the October 2024 licensing guide, and collections activity tracking, sold by marketplace apps.

CPA Practice Advisor reports that Acumatica 2026 R1 added an AI Assistant and anomaly detection. Acumatica's own AR automation blog mentions AR anomaly detection and describes no collections agent.

What does Acumatica's native dunning still miss?

Acumatica's dunning sends the letter and posts the charge, but a person clicks Calculate for the fee, sets up coming-due letters and handles everything after the reply.

  • Click Calculate every cycle. Automation schedules skip the Calculate step on overdue charges; a community thread dated 25 March 2026 reports issue AC-50518 still open in 2026 R1. A cycle nobody clicks posts no charge.
  • Add coming-due documents yourself. Dunning letters cover overdue documents by default, and invoices not yet due need the Add Coming-Due Documents option. Default level 1 is 30 days past due, and the first contact is a letter.
  • Charge a fixed fee per level. A percentage dunning fee is still a feature request, so a small invoice and a large one carry the same fee.
  • Check the filter before Process. A customer report answered on 30 September 2026 describes filtering to 60+ days and charging every document, because only filters with a default value apply.
  • Read the reply and place the hold yourself. After the final letter the customer drops out of dunning and waits on Manage Credit Holds, per the MYOB Acumatica help. The promised date stays in an inbox.
  • Send any SMS from another tool. The dunning help describes email and print and names no SMS option, so a customer who ignores email gets a printed letter at most.

The letter history is in Acumatica and the reply is in a mailbox, so you check two places for one customer.

Where Paidnice fits: if you want to...

Paidnice runs its full feature set on Acumatica through the Custom plan, and covers the six jobs below that dunning letters and the portal add-on leave to a person.

Paidnice is good for you if you want to:

  • Stop chasing the moment a payment posts. Invoices, payments and credit notes sync from Acumatica instantly, so a payment posted in Acumatica stops chasing straight away.
  • Reach the customer before day 30. A reminder sequence runs before and after the due date by email, SMS and posted letter, on a schedule per customer group.
  • Have the reply read and the run held. Paidnice reads the reply, drafts the answer, logs the promised date and pauses chasing until then. A person approves before anything sends.
  • Run fees without a Calculate click. A fee is a percentage, a flat amount or interest per annum, compounding on or off, posted into Acumatica as its own invoice, Draft or Approved.
  • Give the final letter a named owner. At the day count you choose, or on a credit-limit breach, an escalation goes to a named owner.

Paidnice customers cut their average wait for payment in half, within 30 days. Acumatica runs on the Custom plan. Credit checks through your Creditsafe API connection, an implementation specialist and a dedicated account manager come with it.

How to choose credit control software for Acumatica

Pick a tool that syncs both ways with Acumatica, so chasing stops when a payment posts in the ERP, and ask each vendor the six questions below.

  1. Does a payment posted in Acumatica stop the chase? Two-way sync of invoices, payments and credit notes is the essential.
  2. Does it remind before the due date? Acumatica's dunning letters cover overdue documents by default, and coming-due documents need the Add Coming-Due Documents option.
  3. Does the fee run without a Calculate click? Acumatica's overdue charges wait for someone to click Calculate each cycle.
  4. Does a reply with a date pause the sequence? Acumatica's dunning documentation describes no promised-date field, so plan for the next letter to go out regardless.
  5. What happens after the final letter? Acumatica drops the customer out of dunning and waits on Manage Credit Holds.
  6. Do fees post as invoices in Acumatica? Keep the balance in Acumatica equal to the balance the customer owes.

See Paidnice on your Acumatica ledger

A Paidnice demo on your own Acumatica ledger shows which accounts it would chase first, where a pre-due reminder and a scheduled fee land, and how a payment stops the chase.

Book a demo with your own Acumatica data: nothing runs until you approve the draft policies. An implementation specialist sets up the connection after the demo. Customers cut overdue invoices by 70% in their first 30 days.

Acumatica credit control: common questions

Five short answers on what Acumatica's dunning letters and overdue charges do on their own, and what Paidnice adds on the Custom plan.

Does Acumatica send dunning letters automatically?

Yes, once the levels are set. Prepare Dunning Letters and Print/Release Dunning Letters both accept automation schedules, as an Acumatica community member explains. By default letters cover overdue documents, with level 1 at 30 days past due, and the Add Coming-Due Documents option brings in invoices not yet due.

Can Acumatica charge late fees and interest?

Yes. Each dunning level carries a fixed fee, and overdue charges run on the Calculate Overdue Charges form, each charge code with its own rate and calculation method. A person clicks Calculate first, and a community thread dated 25 March 2026 reports the automation gap (AC-50518) still open in 2026 R1.

Can Acumatica send reminders by SMS or post?

SMS is not documented. The MYOB Acumatica dunning help describes email and print, and names no SMS option. Paidnice on the Custom plan adds SMS and posted letters on the same schedule as the email reminders.

What happens after the final dunning letter in Acumatica?

The customer is excluded from further dunning and can be selected on the Manage Credit Holds form, where a person places the hold. Default levels sit 30 days apart. Collections calls, notes and tasks come from a marketplace add-on. Paidnice sends the escalation to a named owner at the day count you choose.

Does Paidnice connect to Acumatica?

Yes, on the Custom plan. Invoices, payments and credit notes sync instantly. Fees and interest post back as invoices, Draft or Approved, with UK base-rate interest indexed automatically. Reminders, SMS, posted letters, statements and escalations run on top.
